Unable to experience the unique atmosphere of Vienna’s famous cafés, Emperor Franz Josef enviously told his subjects: “you are lucky – you can go to the café”.
Since 2008, Kaffeehaus has brought the Viennese coffee experience in Chiado, Lisbon. You can enjoy traditional Viennese coffee creations such as Einspänner, Pharisäer or Biedermeier while browsing our selection of newspapers and magazines. Or alternatively, you can take a break from your shopping and have a snack on our terrace, have lunch with your work colleagues, have dinner with your family or simply enjoy a few drinks in the company of your friends at night – this is all Kaffeehaus.
OUR SPECIALTIES
We invite you to relax in the warm, Viennese atmosphere of the Kaffeehaus and try our authentic cuisine. Choose from Austrian classics like Wiener Schnitzel and homemade sausages, or savour our Mediterranean-influenced dishes.
At Kaffeehaus you will find everything from the Austrian drink Schnapps to Portuguese Ginginha and from Grüner Veltliner to Vinho Verde (green wine). Our homemade desserts, ranging from Apfelstrudel to the world-famous Sachertorte chocolate cake, pair perfectly with our Viennese teas and our own exclusive coffee blend (roast).
KAFFEEHAUS BIER
It is with great pride and even more joy that we present our own Kaffeehaus Bier in 2023!
Exclusively produced by the Austrian private brewery Schnaitl, a family business in its fifth generation since 1843, this exquisite and flavourful beer stands for tradition and regionality of the raw materials used.
Original Lager is a straw-yellow, bottom-fermented Märzen beer with a fine hop flavour and pleasant bitterness. It has a white, rich and stable foam structure and is wonderfully palatable and full-bodied in flavour.
Dunkel is a chestnut-coloured, slightly reddish beer with a strong, firm foam structure. The flavour is balanced and malty, with aromas of dark chocolate and cocoa. Caramel-like on the palate, delicately bitter and harmonious on the finish.
Inspired by the Viennese pub scene, our G’MISCHTES celebrates the perfect harmony between Dark and Lager, creating a unique and irresistible beer in a balanced 50:50 ratio.
